MATSOL seeks a volunteer CPA to join the Board of Directors Finance Committee in support of our mission to promote equity and excellence for multilingual learners in Massachusetts. Meetings are held virtually. 

Job Description

MATSOL seeks a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join the Board of Directors Finance Committee in support of our mission to promote equity and excellence for multilingual learners in Massachusetts. 

  • Participate in monthly virtual meetings of the MATSOL Finance Committee and periodic meetings with the full Board of Directors. 
  • Provide advice and support for board members and staff to engage in financial oversight and planning. Support board members in understanding financial practices and reports.
  • Review monthly financial reports and annual non-profit tax filings and audit results.
  • Advise on financial best practices, planning and budgeting.

MATSOL is a financially healthy organization with a collegial and supportive board culture. This position was previously held by a volunteer CPA who served on the committee for four years.

Time Commitment 

Approximately 3 hours per month to review documents and attend a monthly 1-hour virtual meeting. Also Attend occasional 2 hour virtual board meetings. We ask for a minimum 1 year commitment, 3 year commitment preferred.
