About the meeting:

We are looking forward to hearing from Kelly-Ann Cooney at our February 16 ESL Unit Developers SIG meeting! Kelly brings a wealth of knowledge regarding the WIDA 2020 Standards and will facilitate an in-depth discussion which will help us apply the standards to our curriculum writing. These foundational concepts are crucial to our work and you won't want to miss this workshop! More about the workshop:

  • One of the key shifts in WIDA 2020 is a functional approach to language development and specifically, systemic functional linguistics (SFL). Participants will be introduced to unpacking language functions and features in the genre family of narratives. This will be a 45 minute mini-workshop.
