2019 Conference Committee

Assist in planning the program for the 2019 Conference.


  • Identify potential featured and invited speakers;
  • Do outreach to solicit conference proposals;
  • Lead the conference proposal review process;
  • Assist with planning the conference program;
  • Plan activities at the conference.


  • Experience attending and/or presenting at the MATSOL annual conference and experience with proposal review and/or conference planning is helpful, but not required.
  • Committee members may also submit proposals to the conference and will be excluded from reviewing their own proposals.

Time Commitment

  • Approximately 4-5 hours per month from September to May, including monthly online meetings and tasks between meetings. 
  • Meetings will take place online on the 1st Thursday of the month from 4:30-5:30 PM, with the first meeting on October 4.

Please note that the 2019 conference will focus on PK-12 education, policy, and teacher education. It will not include adult or higher education ESOL sessions.
