Description

This course is designed for teachers to address the needs for English Learners (ELs) to access rigorous standard-based instruction while simultaneously and intentionally developing the language associated with content area texts and tasks. It builds upon foundational understanding of Sheltered Instruction and moves teachers to think about sets of lessons reflecting elements of the Teaching and Learning Cycle and to apply more of the understandings informed by the WIDA Standards.

Format

Online: 2 synchronous (live) online sessions plus 3 asynchronous independent work modules.

PDPs

Fulfills requirement for 15 PDPs in English learner education for recertification.
